Pike Street Fayettville

The Pike Street Bar and Grill located in Fayettville Ohio was a stop along the way to Jackass Flats located in Dayton Ohio. I have been riding my new motorcycle extensivley since buying it the 1st of July. I have ridden over 3000 miles since. My Honda Shadow was somehow able to keep up with all of these big Harley Davidsons. My theory is that as long as my knees are in the wind and bugs are in my teeth then I'm smiling like a bee in honey. I will post more pictures of my adventures in the future. Until then, happy trails!

4th of July parade

We had beautiful weather for the parade, the rain held off just long enough. Support 4 Troops did a wonderful job of sending me and fellows in my unit much needed supplies while deployed in Iraq. The least I could do was to appear in the parade for them. Along with me, my cousin Dan volunteered to be the honorary Uncle Sam. We threw the kids candy, handed out flyers with information on how to donate items or money, and it was a good opportunity for me to show people that soldiers really do appreciate the support received from the community. We understand that not all people agree with the war in Iraq, but are grateful that no matter their political opinions, they still support the troops. THANK YOU TO ALL THAT SUPPORT THOSE WHOM ARE SERVING FREEDOM AROUND THE WORLD. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Cox Carpentry for two weeks

Building a 1300 sq. ft. porch is no small task! My cousin Dan built this porch for one of his customers. (That's Dan with the ladder.) I helped him finish it by putting on the roof, ceiling and stain in the past two weeks. I've been out of college for the past month. I have been really slacking on this blog lately. So I have decided to leave at least one blog a week from now on. I have been doing a lot lately, playing softball, umpiring, golfing in the OVGA, bought a motorcycle (I'll post pictures later in the week), and hanging out with family & friends. Thanks for haning in there with me and enjoy your summer!

Walk America, for the March of Dimes took place this weekend. My sister brought her twin one year olds, Bridgette and Brady. They have lots to be thankful for as the March of Dimes helped them as pre-mees to overcome several obstacles. My sister's husband, Brian, can be seen pushing the stroller in the first photo. In the second photo, I am posing with my Aunt Janet and the twins. The walk began at the Purple People Bridge and proceeded past Great American Ballpark, encircling Paul Brown Stadium and returning to Sawyer Point for food, drink and music. It was a beautiful day for the event and a few thousand attended. It wasn't a race, so we didn't have to worry about coming in first (or last!) ha!

New Beginnings

I've been home for over five months now and decided that it's time to continue with my blogging.I am happy to be back home, and yes, I can still be called back to service. So I am crossing my fingers on that one!! All I can really do is take it day by day and the rest will play out however God chooses. So, I plan to compile many of my life activities on this blog, which may seem boring compared to some of the stuff I was doing a year ago! I plan on getting out this summer and having some good American fun for a change! I would like to go to a Reds game (I already went to opening day) and attend an event at the Kentucky Speedway.

So please, drop in and see what's going on in Mr. Flinn's world on occasion!

Sincerly,

Mr. Flinn
